Broward county is the county which buffers Palm Beach (north) and Miami-Dade (south) counties, and includes major south Florida cities such as Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, and Parkland. Broward has over 100 miles of coastline, numerous parks and nature preserves, as well as access to the Everglades National Park. This is an excellent county to live in if you want the best of the Florida lifestyle, close proximity to the amenities of Fort Lauderdale, as well as get back in touch with nature.
Sea Ranch Lakes is a smaller, primarily gated town on the coast of Broward county, a very short distance north of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. This village earned its name from the Sea Ranch Hotel which existed prior to the construction of this "walled community". Outside of the gated protection, there are a few public restaurants and shopping plazas, as well as a private beach area for Sea Ranch Lakes residents. As of the 2000 census, there were just under 1400 homes that made up Sea Ranch Lakes, giving it that small-town exclusivity feel, while still being close enough to the metropolitan amenities of Fort Lauderdale. There are currently 4 properties for sale at Sea Ranch Lakes in Broward county, the smallest of which is an ocean-side condominium, ranging between $349,000 and $4.3 million, with square footage between 5,600 and 1,200. Sea Ranch Lakes is an excellent, quiet, beach-side Broward community, well worth a look by anyone looking for their next home within a gated community.
